ALL-WEEKEND FAMILY FIESTA
Saint Anthony Church is hosting its annual parish fiesta on: Friday, May 16 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday, May 17 from noon to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. There will be rides, games and entertainment during the three-day event, and different types of food at affordable prices. HELP A SCHOOL SAVE ITS SCIENCE LAB!
Fremont Elementary School, 4000 East 4th Street, invites the public to bring gently used uniforms and books to its used uniform/book sale Saturday, May 17 from 8 a.m. to noon. Proceeds from the sale will go to the Save Our Science Lab (S.O.S.) program. Donations can be dropped off at Fremont during school hours today or tomorrow. CELEBRATE “I AM WHAT I AM”
Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride, Inc. will have its annual celebration of rich culture and colorful human diversity at its festival Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. along Shoreline Drive, with live entertainment on seven different stages, dance areas and venues right next to the ocean. The parade, which begins on Ocean Boulevard and Temple Avenue at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, will feature a variety of participants and dignitaries from all over the globe. The Disabled Resources Center will have Terry Ripple from Meals on Wheels make a presentation on the services provided by the agency on Wednesday, May 21 at 1:30 p.m. The presentation will be made at the center 2750 E. The Signal Hill Chamber of Commerce is hosting its monthly membership meeting and luncheon Thursday, May 22 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Signal Hill Community Center, 1780 E. Hill Street.
