More Info The expo event will serve as the kick-off to the 9th Council District’s 2nd Annual Participatory Budgeting Initiative, in which residents choose how $250,000 of discretionary funds is spent on community projects to help continue the “Uptown Renaissance.” The launch will feature displays for the projects, voting in person, music, activities for kids and free food for those who vote courtesy of Long Beach Firefighters Local 372. From May 7 to May 14, all District 9 residents ages 14 and over will directly vote on which projects will be funded and implemented, with a total of $250,000 available for allocation.
