SH Historical Society Meeting
The Signal Hill Historical Society will be having a general meeting tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the Signal Hill Library, located at 1770 East Hill Street in Signal Hill. Casino Night Fundraiser
The Long Beach Polytechnic High School water polo Boosters invite the community to their first annual Casino Night on Friday Nov. 9, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The evening will bring alumni, family and friends together under the tent at El Dorado Park Golf Course. A $50 donation includes starter chips and hors d’oeuvres. The event will also have a silent auction and a no-host bar. Proceeds will benefit the boys and girls water polo teams. Orchid Society Meeting
The Long Beach Amateur Orchid Society is having a meeting Monday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. The meeting, entitled “Orchid Growing – Stump the Experts,” will feature a panel of four with more than 100 combined years of orchid growing expertise. Crochet ‘N’ Chat
The members of the Crochet Guild of Long Beach will host a crochet workshop Sunday, Nov. 11 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The workshop will have guests working in items for the Long Beach Memorial Hospice program and the Long Beach Animal Shelter. Autism Health Lecture
On Friday, Nov. 16, Miller Children’s Hospital will be conducting a free interactive lecture entitled “Autism 101: Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Autism but Were Afraid to Ask.” Learn more about autism from clinical specialist and guest speaker Dr. Pauline A. Affordable Housing Forum
The League of Women Voters Long Beach Area is having a community forum entitled “Community Housing” on Saturday, Nov 17 from 10 a.m. to noon. Listen to the experts from Long Beach Housing Services, the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, Long Beach Department of Planning and Building, and others and contribute opinions on housing opportunities in Long Beach. Emergency Preparedness Training

The cities of Long Beach and Signal Hill invite the public to attend their annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 6 p.m. at Discovery Well Park, located at 2200 Temple Avenue in Signal Hill. Refreshments will be provided.
