The Kiwanis Club of Bixby Knolls/North Long Beach is now selling Entertainment® 2008 books through January. These books contain coupons for hundreds of local restaurants, entitling users to “buy one meal, get one free,” or to enjoy 50-percent-off discounts and discounts for movies, museums, the Long Beach Playhouse, sporting events and other entertainment as well as discounts on hotels, rental cars, and many stores and services.
Books are available for Long Beach/Los Angeles ($25), Orange County ($35), and Inland Empire/Palm Springs ($20). Kiwanis can also obtain books for other California regions, including San Gabriel Valley, San Diego, Santa Barbara, San Fernando Valley, and more. The books can be used from now until Nov. 1, 2008.
“The Entertainment Books make wonderful gifts for the holidays,” said Kiwanis Club member Adele Katz in a press release. “Books can be ordered for any major city in the United States and Canada, including the very popular Las Vegas and Hawaii books.”
Because this is a fundraising event, the Kiwanis Club is allowed to offer the books at $5 off regular retail cost. Proceeds from the sale of Entertainment® 2008 books are utilized by the Kiwanis Club for community needs, which include children living in Carmelitos, and schools and charities located in the North Long Beach and Bixby Knolls areas.
