Red, white and blue—the colors of both the U.S. and Cambodian flags—filled the sidewalks of Anaheim Street during the 15th annual Cambodia Town Parade on April 2 in celebration of the Cambodian New Year.

The theme of this year’s event was “Stop the Hate,” as a way to bring attention to the hate and discrimination that Asian communities have long faced and the increased incidents of racially motivated violence in recent years.

Hundreds of people came out to march and watch from the sidewalks of Anaheim Street as floats, community groups and city leaders waved toward residents.

Cambodia Town has been officially recognized as a cultural district in Long Beach since 2007, as the city has the largest Cambodian community outside of Cambodia.
