The City of Signal Hill Community Services Department will host a low-cost vaccination and microchip clinic at Signal Hill Park, 2175 Cherry Ave., on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 10am to 11:30am. Services will be provided by the Society for California Veterinary Vaccine Care (SCVVC). Animal licensing will also be available during the event.
Microchips are available at a cost of $28, which includes AVID registration and lifetime 24/7 lost-and-found monitoring. Dog and cat rabies vaccines will be available at a cost of $7 for animals ages four months or older. Other vaccines available at a low cost will include bordetella, lyme, DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza and parvo virus), feline leukemia and FVRCP (feline viral rhinotracheitis, calci, and panleukopenia). Dewormings will be offered at a cost between $13 and $35.
Pet owners must notify the veterinarian prior to vaccination if their pets have ever had a reaction to a vaccine, have recently shown any sign of illness or could be pregnant.
Clinics are held on a first-come, first-served basis. Pet owners must be at least 18 years of age to participate. All pets must be on leashes or in carriers. Checks will be accepted for licensing, but only cash will be accepted for all veterinary services.
