Community Hospital LB Foundation presents $150,000 check, begins four-phase emergency department refurbish

The Community Hospital Long Beach (CHLB) Foundation announced Feb. 5 the kick-off of a $1.25-million challenge campaign to support a four-phase upgrade to the Community Hospital Long Beach emergency department.
The foundation presented a $150,000 check to Community Hospital to begin work immediately on phase two, providing upgrades to the nurses’ and physicians’ workstations to improve work flow and provide efficient professional care.
Matthew Faulkner, executive director of CHLB, and Alan Anderson, chair of the CHLB Foundation, presented the $150,000 check to Krikor Jansezian, Ph.D., CHLB administrator, and Greg Bush, M.D., medical director of the emergency department.
In addition to the $150,000 gift, the Bixby Endowment Fund is providing a $500,000 challenge grant to stimulate a minimum of $500,000 in matching gifts toward a total of $1.25 million to upgrade patient treatment, technology and service capacity of the only emergency department within an acute-care hospital setting on the east side of Long Beach, according to the foundation.
