Local hospital brings on new Board of Directors as well as new Executive Director for the CHLB Foundation.
Glen Maddalon to head CHLB Foundation
John Koenig, chair of the Community Hospital of Long Beach Foundation Board, and Ray Jankowski, President and CEO of Community Hospital of Long Beach (CHLB) announce the selection of Glenn Maddalon as the new foundation executive director.
Previously, Maddalon served as the regional vice president for the American Lung Association of California located in Santa Ana, California. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from San Jose State University and a Masters in Public Health from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Maddalon will be responsible for the overall development and evaluation of fundraising programs for the Foundation, including its annual fund, major gifts, planned giving and foundation grants.
“I am pleased to be joining the Community Hospital of Long Beach team,” said Maddalon. “Two of my goals are to increase awareness and support of the foundation in the communities served by the hospital, as well as build partnerships with organizations with similar missions, visions, goals and objectives.”
CHLB Foundation, which has a long tradition of supporting the hospital’s needs, has funded every major expansion, renovation and capital equipment purchase since the 1970s.
CHLB Board of Directors announces Dennis C. Smith to serve as chairman
Dennis C. Smith, co-owner/ broker of Stratis Financial, will serve as the new chairman of the CHLB board of directors.
Smith holds a Bachelor of Arts, Economics and Political Studies from Pitzer College, is active in the community and enjoys cooking and playing golf.
He is the past president for Leadership Long Beach, Long Beach Education Foundation, Southern Los Angeles Chapter, California Association of Mortgage Brokers, Greater Long Beach Association of Realtors Affiliates and the Greater Long Beach Real Estate Club.
Joining Smith on the executive committee are: Vice Chair, Nancy Myers; Treasurer, David C. Johnston, CPA; Secretary, Robert Goebel, MD; Strategic Planning Chair, Bill Bryant; Immediate Past Chair, Jim Choura; Chief of Staff, Dennis Parmer, MD; Chair, Public Affairs Committee, Helen Najar; and CHLB President and CEO, Ray Jankowski.
