Fifth District Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske has invited the public to join her for an Open House on Sunday, September 13 from noon to 2pm at Fire Station No. 18, 3361 Palo Verde Ave.
The public will have a chance to meet the firefighters of Fire Station No. 18 and learn first-hand how these dedicated public servants spend their days in preparation to respond to calls for help from the community.
Cookies and lemonade will be served during the open house. Residents will have the opportunity to sign a petition opposing a mayor’s proposal to close the fire station during the day.
