If you are searching for an upscale, close-to-home restaurant where you can eat, drink and be merry, consider Delius Restaurant. Located at 2951 Cherry Ave. in Signal Hill, Delius is a delightful hideaway for brunch, lunch or dinner and a great spot to just meet for cocktails.
During the holiday season, owners Dave and Louise Solzman have decorated the establishment with Old World charm and welcome current customers as well as new folks venturing to find a new favorite restaurant. Lunch and dinner specials are always on the menu. Looking for a spot to host a holiday party? Search no more, as Delius has a lovely private room just right for intimate gatherings. Reservations are, of course, required.
For those who prefer a prix-fixe menu, Delius is sure to please. Check out their website at deliusrestaurant.com for their various prix-fixe menus. The multi-course alternative to a la carte dining is very common in Europe, says Dave, who explains that the typical prix-fixe meal starts with hors d’oeuvre and an appetizer course, soup, a first course preceding the main course, then a fruit and cheese plate, and finishes off the meal with a trio of desserts. “The menu also changes every two weeks, and the proportions are sized small, so it’s not heavy fare,” he says.
Gift-givers will find Delius a haven for purchasing the perfect gift. Available are gift cards in various denominations, men’s and ladies’ T-shirts, caps and corkscrews.
Also, for those planning now for a New Year’s bash, Delius is taking reservations for its New Year’s celebration, which takes place on Friday, Dec. 31 from 8pm to midnight. Guests requesting the restaurant’s prix-fixe room must make reservations at least 24 hours in advance. For reservations, call (562) 426-0694.
