Dignity Health–St. Mary Medical Center was presented with the American Heart Association’s Get With the Guidelines Heart Failure Silver Quality Achievement Award this month– the first time St. Mary was honored with the recognition, “which demonstrates the hospital’s commitment to ensuring heart-failure patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines,” according to the hospital.
The Silver Quality Achievement Award illustrates one full year in meeting specific measures for the diagnosis and treatment of heart-failure patients, including education, medication management and follow-up care plans. The goal is a smooth recovery process while reducing hospital readmissions, according to the hospital.
