The Belmont Shore Business Association has selected “Dog Days of Christmas” as the parade theme for the 2007 Belmont Shore Christmas Parade.
The theme honors the local canine community, which was instrumental to the city being chosen as one of the top nine cities in the country for dogs and their people by Dog Fancy magazine. The theme also celebrates the American Kennel Club’s Championship, which is taking place in Long Beach that same weekend.
Community activist and dog enthusiast Justin Rudd will preside over the parade as the grand marshall with Rosie, his locally famous bulldog. Rudd created the dog beach zone and is also the Haute Dogs founder and organizer that coordinates dog events in Belmont Shore.
