Eco-friendly small businesses invited to apply for CoolCalifornia award

All California small businesses (with less than 100 employees) that can demonstrate climate leadership through a commitment to implementing and promoting climate-friendly practices are eligible to apply for a CoolCalifornia Small Business Award.
This new award program will recognize multiple small businesses from across the state that demonstrate climate leadership. Each business will be scored according to its climate-change management practices and related communication strategies. Applicants will be eligible for one of two awards. Up to 20 CoolCalifornia awards will be presented, and approximately five Small Business of the Year awards will be given to businesses that demonstrate exceptional achievement.
The awards will be presented in November 2009 at the California Air Resources Board headquarters in Sacramento. The application deadline is Sept. 3, 2009. The winners will be recognized by a California Air Resources Board resolution as well as a press release and a featured story on CoolCalifornia.org.
Award winners may receive additional exposure through media coverage of the awards ceremony. Award winners receive authorization to use the CoolCalfornia winner logo in their window as well as with their products, advertising, and business websites to publicize their achievements.
