Congratulations to James Haupt (shown above with Exalted Ruler Rick Rose), who was named Elk of the Month for August.
Haupt joined the Long Beach Elks No. 888 in 1988 and demitted to Bellflower Elks Lodge in 1991, but has been a part of the Elks since 1957, when he joined the Fresno Elks Lodge.
Haupt, along with Bill Keichline, reorganized the 4th of July fireworks project, making a substantial profit for the lodge for the last several years.
He has also served as Trustee for Bellflower Elks from 2002 to 2005.
