Elks honor Joe Munoz for dedicated service

Elk of the Month Joe MunozJoe B. Munoz was named Elk of the month for November at the Bellflower-Long Beach Elks No. 888.
Munoz was initiated into the Long Beach Elks on Jan. 25, 1988. He has been active in different committees and started in the Officers Corps in 1989. Munoz became exalted ruler in 1997 and was a trustee for five years.
A very active member, he serves on the breakfast committee and helps with the Chimes by folding and mailing the newsletter. Munoz was on the auditing committee for several years and is a member of the funeral committee.
Munoz fills in for absent officers and this last lodge year has occupied the station as acting esteemed leading knight taking turns with other past exalted rulers and for the past year-and-a-half is the bar manager of the bar facility. According to chairman Larry Hancock, Munoz is an Elk who contributes to the cause of “Elkdom” in many ways.
