Friends of Long Beach Animals (FOLBA) is hosting a month-long trek to help our animal friends. In honor of St. Francis of Assisi, Patron Saint of Animals, the virtual “walking” begins on October 1 and will end October 31. Along with the Virtual Walk will be a great auction as well as a Virtual Blessing of the Animals and Church Blessing service.
Funds raised will support FOLBA’s programs, SNIP, Humane Education, and medical treatment for animals in the care of Long Beach Animal Care Services.
Those who register for the event at www.folba.org will have the option to create their own personal fundraising page for Friends of Long Beach Animals, allowing them to customize the page, add an image and message that can be emailed to friends, family and co-workers to raise pledges. Participants will be virtually “walking,” letting their mouse do the work to help them win a grand prize valued at $1,000.
Visiting the Auction for Animals allows bidding on some wonderful prizes as well as helping the animals. Prizes range from gifts for pets to great vacation get-a-ways. Many local businesses have donated their gift certificates and services.
