Forest Lawn to host free Veterans Day ceremony

In honor of our nation’s military heroes, Forest Lawn Memorial—Parks & Mortuaries—Hollywood Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Dr., will celebrate its 53rd annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 11 from 11am to noon. More than 1,500 people are anticipated to attend.
Captain Justin L. Babcock, company commander of the US Army Recruiting Company, will serve as the keynote speaker at this free community event, joined by special military guest speaker, Michael Johnson, president of the Montford Point Marines Association. In addition, the program will feature the reading of the Presidential Proclamation by Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.
The event will also feature an aerial performance by the Golden Stars Skydiving Team, performances by soloist Victoria Gordon and patriotic musical arrangements by the Band of the California Battalion, under the direction of Dr. Gary Scott.
Representatives from branches of the US military will participate and will be given special acknowledgments. Complimentary souvenirs will be presented to all attendees.
