The Found Theatre is presenting a brand-new production of Beyond Retirement from founder Cynthia Galles’ Beyond The Valley of the Flight Attendants series. The age for Social Security eligibility has been raised to 85, and Super Saver Airlines has done away with all retirement benefits. Sound familiar? Beyond Retirement was first produced at the Found 13 years ago, and with a few updates, it is more timely than ever, and even funnier. Directed by Lauren Nave and featuring a cast of Found Theatre regulars that includes Laura Bosworth, Ricci Dedola, Virginia DeMoss, and Monique Hilliard, plus newcomers Brenda Harris, Heidi Neilson, and Heather Zavala. Whether a beleaguered flight attendant or a downtrodden frequent flyer, audiences will identify with the hilarious antics of the Super Saver crew and passengers. And, hey, we still serve free refreshments!
Performances run Fridays and Saturdays, July 18 through August 30 at 8:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $15 for first class and $12 for penny pincher fare. The Found Theatre is located at 599 Long Beach Blvd. (corner of 6th St. and Long Beach Blvd.)
Free parking in the CityPlace lot across L.B. Blvd. near CVS Pharmacy. Save gas: The Metro Blue Line 5th St. station and a Passport shuttle stop are located directly in front of the theatre, and the Found is a short walk from downtown restaurants.
