GM North America president visits SH dealership to honor its owner

It’s not every day that the president of GM North America will walk into one of the company’s local dealerships. However, on Nov. 17, Mark Reuss, president of GM North America, was at Signal Hill’s Boulevard Buick GMC to honor its owner, Jim Willingham for 50 years of excellence- an accolade that few dealerships receive.
“Receiving this award is a tremendous honor,” said Willingham. “I have owned this dealership since 1961 and have received many awards, but to have my dealership and hard work be recognized at this level is truly a privilege.”
In 1999, Willingham was elected chairman of the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA), the auto industry’s premier organization of the nation’s 20,000-plus automobile dealers regardless of make or model. Willingham also received Time Magazine’s Quality Dealer of the Year Award in 1984
Willingham has served as president of the Rotary Club of Long Beach, the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce, Red Cross Long Beach Chapter, Long Beach Water Commission, Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees, and the Long Beach Convention/Visitors Bureau
