Golf enthusiasts from all over the greater Long Beach area will bring their skills and love of the game to the Virginia Country Club on Monday, Dec. 3 to participate in the 10th annual Toyota Symphony Classic. Registration begins at 9 a.m., and tee-off is set for 10:30 a.m.
Irv Miller, vice president of corporate communications for Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. and the planning group’s honorary chair, describes the event as “a fun and focused fundraiser to benefit the artistic, education and outreach programs of the Long Beach Symphony Orchestra.”
Featured guest PGA touring pro Mark Pfeil will provide hands-on pointers as well as participate in a “Beat the Pro” competition, where one participant could win a 2008 Toyota Camry LE by sinking a hole-in-one.
Along with the event’s several contests, the tournament will also have a continental breakfast, barbecue and post-tourney buffet preceded by a hosted cocktail hour. The event will also include both silent and live auctions, an awards ceremony and a grand-prize drawing for a complete set of professional-grade woods or irons.
The tourney’s primary business sponsors are Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., based in Torrance; Seaside Printing Company, Inc., in Long Beach; Long Beach law firm Kessal, Young and Logan, and Deloitte Consulting LLP in Los Angeles. Corporate ($1000), contest ($500), course ($300) and tee ($250) sponsorships are still available.
