Team 100 volunteers help fill bags of food for needy children in the area.
“Team 100 is a group of mostly local men who came together to help provide an essential need in a city where more than 50,000 elementaryâ€aged kids live below the poverty line and benefit from inâ€school breakfast and lunch programs during the school week,” said Team 100 President Tim McBride.
With Team 100 as its primary Food For Kids support group, the Volunteer Center fills 15 bags of nonâ€perishable food each week for the neediest students at local schools, according to Team 100.
After two years at the Long Beach Yacht Club— where more than 1,100 guests attended the gala last June— as many as 1,500 are expected at the June 7 invitationâ€only, blackâ€tieâ€optional party at the Renaissance Long Beach Hotel.
Those interested in contributing to the benefit should contact Ken Miller at (310) 621â€0484 or impactken@aol.com . Taxâ€deductible donations to Team 100’s Food For Kids initiative in Long Beach can be made at team100lb.org/payments .
