Historical Society hosting award-winning documentary film series

The Historical Society of Long Beach (HSLB) has been chosen by the International Documentary Association to serve as one of the host sites for its traveling documentary film festival.
Since last Saturday, HSLB has transformed its main gallery into a documentary film theatre, featuring seven groundbreaking films from around the world.
Admission is $10 for non-HSLB members, $5 for members and students, and free for children under five. All screenings begin at 6pm and are conducted in the Historical Society’s Main Gallery at 4260 Atlantic Ave.
The remaining films include:

Saturday, November 14 Garbage Warrior (2008)

Sunday, November 15 Mandela: Son of Africa, Father of a Nation (1997)

Saturday, November 21 Sugihara: Conspiracy of Kindness (2000)

On the final night of the festival, Diane Estelle Vicari, producer of Sugihara, will introduce her film and conduct a discussion with questions from the audience after the screening.
