Community members and officers from the Long Beach and Signal Hill police departments turned “out” last Tuesday for the 26th annual National Night Out, a unique safety and community event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. The event involves citizens, law-enforcement agencies, civic groups, area businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from more than 10,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide.
Volunteers serve the diverse crowd that showed up to enjoy food prepared by Long Beach resident Stella Davis, who makes her front yard on Salt Lake Street available to celebrate the event.
