Jazz and schmooze

EXT CAP Wine and Jazz at St.VincentSt. Vincent de Paul thrift store, 2750 Pacific Coast Highway, recently hosted an intimate wine and jazz gathering on its patio, where David Fields, the Council’s new deputy executive director, spoke about the Society’s local work and outreach to community business leaders.
Long Beach 4th District Councilmember Patrick O’Donnell and Vice Mayor Val Lerch were present and thanked St. Vincent de Paul for its new store. O’Donnell also presented the Society with a special proclamation. The James Gentry Quintet (pictured) provided the jazz entertainment.
The evening allowed local business leaders, the clergy and other organizations to network with the Council’s staff and learn more about the Society’s outreach in a casual environment.
“We want to become part of the fabric of the city. This type of event gives us the presence that we need,” said Fields. “The intent is to better understand the city and allow the local organizations to understand the role that we want to play in the city.”
