The City of Long Beach is celebrating the arrival of summer with a free outdoor concert at El Dorado Park on Friday, May 23, featuring live music from Pop Vinyl Band.
“With summer right around the corner, we are thrilled to invite the community to join us in welcoming the warm summer months with this free, family-friendly evening of great music,” said Mayor Rex Richardson in a public statement. “Our annual Summer Kickoff Concert highlights our continued commitment to bringing Long Beach together to celebrate arts, culture and music.”
The event, organized by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine, will take place at El Dorado Park West along Studebaker Road, just north of Willow Street.
The concert is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. and will offer a lively mix of music genres, including pop, soul, funk, Latin, Top 40 hits and rock. Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic dinners to relax and enjoy the evening on the grass.
This event rings in the start of a summer filled with free entertainment and community activities. In the months ahead, the City will also bring back popular programs like Movies in the Park, the Long Beach Municipal Band Concert Series, and smaller performances at the El Dorado Nature Center.
“This concert is what summer is all about—coming together to step outside, relax, enjoy some great music and connect as a community,” Councilmember Daryl Supernaw said in a public statement.
More details about the City’s full lineup of summer programming will be released soon. For updates, visit longbeach.gov/park.
