The Kiwanis Club of Bixby Knolls/North Long Beach named new officers at its 47th annual installation of officers for last month.
Officers named were President Adele Katz, Vice President Jerry Caliguiri, Secretary George Whitmore, Treasurer Jack Nendel and immediate Past President, Ray Cummings. Board members for the upcoming year include B.T. Tuggle, Susan Cooper, Ethel Anderson, Mark Stuessy, and Nick Jones.
The club, an active participant in the community for more than 45 years, donated more than $14,000 to various service projects, which include sponsoring a middle-school good citizen/ scholar awards banquet, a middle school geography bee, and the Key Club at Jordan High School. Another major project is the Memorial weekend Kiwanis Karnival at Houghton Park.
According to Kiwanis members, it is their goal to provide its members with an opportunity to give back to one’s community, and help build a better world.
