The following are pet laws in Signal Hill that are punishable by fines up to $500.
• Allowing an unaltered cat to roam outside of your home (Municipal Code 6.16.085)
• Allowing a cat or dog to become pregnant (Municipal Code 6.16.080)
• Allowing a pet to be off leash on any beach or on any public school grounds (Municipal Code 6.16.090)
• Allowing a pet to be off leash on any public street, sidewalk, park or private property if the private property is accessible to the public (Municipal Code 6.16.100)
• Having a dog without a valid license issued by Animal Control (Municipal Code 6.08.010)
• Allowing a dog to bark, howl, whine or make other loud and unusual noises which disrupts the public peace (Municipal Code 6.16.110)
• Allowing an animal to defecate on any public sidewalk, street, park, private property or other public place unless the waste is removed by the person responsible to a proper trash receptacle (Municipal Code 6.16.200)
