LB man dies after being stabbed

Police are investigating a stabbing that led to the death of a local man.
On Dec. 8, at approximately 6:30am, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) officers were dispatched to the 4900 block of Ferro Court regarding a stabbing that had just occurred. Upon arrival, officers located a man with a stab wound to his upper torso. The man responsible for the stabbing had remained at the scene. Officers detained him while they conducted their investigation.
The Long Beach Fire Department responded and transported the victim in critical condition to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Homicide detectives responded and are handling the investigation. No arrest has been made at press time, according to police.
The victim has been identified as Aaron Whatley, a 43-year-old resident of Long Beach.
