The Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) arrested a suspect on Saturday, Jan 18 in connection with a reported rape that occurred three days earlier. LBPD has expressed concern that there may be more victims that have not yet come forward.
Dion Terrell Walton Jr., 26, was taken into custody on Jan. 18 by detectives from the Special Investigations Division. Police located and arrested Walton in the 200 block of East Opp Street in Wilmington before taking him to the Long Beach City Jail.
Walton is charged with sodomy, first-degree robbery, aggravated kidnapping with intent to commit rape, and assault with intent to commit a felony. His bail has been set at $1 million.
Walton was identified as a suspect in a reported sexual assault that occurred on Jan. 15, near West 10th Street and Pacific Avenue. Police said a female adult victim was attacked while walking near an alley, and later that same morning a second woman was struck by the suspect in the 1200 block of Long Beach Boulevard.
