The Long Beach Police Department’s (LBPD) Traffic Section conducted a “driving under the influence” saturation patrol that had motor officers patrolling throughout the city looking for impaired drivers from 7pm to 3am on Saturday, Aug. 22, and various enforcement actions were taken during the eight-hour operation.
The patrol led to the following:
• 82 enforcement stops
• 20 standardized field sobriety tests
• Three DUI arrests
• One citation to an unlicensed driver
• Six traffic citations for unsafe driving
Funding for the LBPD’s DUI program is from a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
