The Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) traffic section will conduct a DUI/driver’s license checkpoint on Saturday, Jan. 23 in the north division between the hours of 7pm and 3am, according to police.
Officers will look for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment while checking drivers for proper licensing. When possible, specially trained officers will be available to evaluate those suspected of drug-impaired driving.
Funding for the checkpoint is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
