Every year employees of LBS Financial Credit Union select a local charity to donate gifts and supplies during their Holiday Breakfast in December. With stay-at-home orders and limits on gatherings this year due to COVID-19, the Credit Union’s annual Holiday Breakfast was canceled. In lieu of selecting one charity and providing gifts, employees voted for a local non-profit to donate funds to that would have otherwise been spent on the annual event.
On Giving Tuesday, December 2nd, LBS Financial surprised two local non-profits with the following donations:
Humansave provides specialized therapy and mental health services to human trafficking and commercial child sexual exploitation survivors and their families and was the recipient of $3,500. The Credit Union’s donation will help Humansave take on more pro bono cases, serve more youth, and help in funding top-of-the-line training and support for their therapists so they have more to give to their clients.
Live Love Animal Rescue provides homeless animals with the necessary medical care, allowing for physical and emotional rehabilitation, and finding them forever homes was the recipient of $2,000. The donation they received from LBS Financial was also matched by the community and will help them start the rescue journey of many more dogs.
“This year our employees had the opportunity to vote for their favorite local non-profit to receive funds,” said LBS Financial Credit Union President and CEO, Jeff Napper. Both local charities really resonated with our team for the amazing work they do in the greater Long Beach area.”
