LBSC takes time for a Breath

The Long Beach Shakespeare Company proudly presents its third annual summer of New Writers’ Works, featuring Mellisa Miller’s Breath–an exploration in manipulation, dreamscapes, and hypnosis. Miller also wrote The Posthumous Affairs of Felson, Jones and Lordygan, last year’s critically-acclaimed new work.
When he finds himself ensnared in a twisted constitution of reality, dream, and make believe, it is up to Malcolm Elliot’s struggling consciousness to pull him back from the clenches of a self-focused outside force. In his attempts to regain control over his own mind, a reality he had long ago forgotten is suddenly restored, and what follows is the inevitable mystery of what comes next in life.
Don’t miss it. Breath is running through July 28 at the Richard Goad Theatre, 4250 Atlantic Avenue in Long Beach on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 general, $10 students. Thursdays are two-for-one. Due to limited seating, reservations are recommended.
