Long Beach Unified School District Superintendent Christopher Steinhauser will address the community about new education programs and other current educational events during the next meeting of the Long Beach Branch National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, which is open to the community.
Issues such as the budget and how the community can provide support will be addressed by both Steinhauser and Long Beach Police Chief Jim McDonnell. The meeting will be Sunday, Sept. 16 at 3pm at Ernest McBride Sr. Park, 1550 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.
“This is an opportunity for members of the public to receive information, share their concerns, solutions and ask questions,” said Naomi Rainey, president of the Long Beach Branch NAACP, who added that the main goals of the meeting are to provide two-way communication and to help the community become safer and stronger.
