League of Women Voters examines changing role of press with discussion

The League of Women Voters is hosting a “Press in Transition” panel meeting to address questions regarding what the future holds for print journalism, what is happening to the line between news and entertainment, whether people will lose their voice, and what the role will be for “journalism” in a time of transition. The meeting will take place Saturday, November 15 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Long Beach Main Library Auditorium, 101 Pacific Avenue.
Panelists will include Rich Archbold, Press Telegram; Harry Salzgaver, Gazette Newspapers; Neena Strichart, Signal Tribune; Professor Danny Paskin, CSULB School of Journalism; Jeff Rabin and Douglas Shuit, former Los Angeles Times writers.
The League invites the public to join them for this informative and timely discussion. Written questions from the audience are welcome, and no reservations are necessary.
