I am appalled by the recent New York Times advertisement written by Rabbi Shmuley Boteach for This World: The Values Network. Rabbi Shmuley attacked National Security Advisor Susan Rice claiming she is “blind to genocide” in Israel and Rwanda. Ms. Rice is a respected professional who has served her country proudly in numerous roles over the past two decades.
This ad would be laughable if it was not so utterly offensive. I join with The American Jewish Committee and the Anti-Defamation League in condemning the ad. The friendship between the United States and Israel remains unshakable, regardless of such despicable and disparaging efforts.
