[On March 27,] I was proud to sign our new Small Business Recruitment, Retention and Growth Incentive program into law. This new initiative was brought forth by Councilmembers Suzie Price and Stacy Mungo and provides tax credits to small businesses that relocate to Long Beach, open a new location here or hire more employees. It’s a great way to support our local economy and to broadcast the message that the City of Long Beach is a perfect place to open or expand your business.
The Small Business Recruitment, Retention and Growth Incentive is just one way we’re working hard to make Long Beach more and more business-friendly every day, and this year we will continue to implement policies and programs that create a positive climate for economic growth, including streamlining our permitting and planning processes, improving our use of technology, collecting important business data and working with the business community to generate new ideas that support their efforts to activate and stimulate the Long Beach economy.
Small businesses are the heart and soul of our city’s economy, and I’m committed to doing everything possible to support their growth and success. My thanks to Councilmembers Price and Mungo for their commitment to that same goal.
Go, Long Beach!
