Leukemia, Lymphoma Society forms training team for cancer research

For anyone who has ever dreamed of crossing the finish line after running 26 miles, walking 13 miles or cycling 100 miles, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is forming a team-in-training to raise funds for cancer research and patient services.
In April they will be organizing a new run/walk team that will train during the summer for the local Long Beach Full/Half Marathon on Sunday, Oct. 12 and the Nike Women’s Full/Half Marathon in San Francisco on Sunday, Oct. 19.
The public is invited to any of the free upcoming informational meetings: Sundays, April 6, 13 and 20 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Lady Foot Locker at Lakewood Mall; Saturday, April 12 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Borders Books & Music at 101 S. Pine Ave. at the Pike; Wednesday, April 16 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at Mirage Coffee House at 539 E. Bixby Dr. in Bixby Knolls; Saturday, April 26 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Tuesday, April 29 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the El Dorado Library at 2900 N. Studebaker Road.
