The couriers (or “flyers” as they are called within Pedaler Society) will provide bicyclists with an efficient method of getting their groceries home after riding their bikes to Trader Joe’s. According to a press release issued this week by the Pedaler Society, customers will benefit from a healthy bike ride to and from Trader Joe’s and a great conversation with their “flyer” on the way home.
The Pedaler Society utilizes a cargo bike provided by the Bike Friendly Business Districts program to Bixby Knolls for local businesses to use when delivering products to local customers.
“Thanks to the leadership of the Bike-Friendly Business District program and Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association, Long Beach Pedaler Society is now able to provide a bicycle-friendly option for residents to shop for groceries.” says Dana Seagraves of Pedaler Society. “While outwardly this may seem like a small offering, it is yet another way that residents in the ‘most bike-friendly city in the nation’ can get on a bicycle and practice healthy living. Perhaps the most important aspect of this program is that it is yet another way that we can participate in our favorite type of business; the business of healthy community building.”
