On May 12, Long Beach residents Jim and Suzanne Mills-Winkler hosted an open-house clothing drive to support the Orange County-based charity Working Wardrobes, Transforming Lives. All donations will provide men, women and teens emerging from a variety of life crises the opportunity to improve their lives and return to work.
All sizes of men’s and women’s clothing that were clean, in good condition and on a hanger were accepted, as well as accessories, including purses, shoes, ties, scarves, costume jewelry and belts.
Shannah Katz of Signal Hill’s Dynamic Designworks Inc., a local creative design firm for the toy and consumer products industry, participated in the drive. “Many community members attended our event, and we successfully collected over 100 pieces of clothing, shoes and accessories for Working Wardrobes,” she said.
