Finders Keepers of Food Finders will be selling the last of its furniture and collectibles and closing its doors on Saturday, Aug. 27.
The Finders Keepers store has been a part of the Bixby Knolls neighborhood for 10 years and has been a source of income for Food Finders, a nonprofit that focuses on hunger relief and food-waste reduction. The store operates as a social enterprise, accepting donated estate and home-furnishing items and selling them at reduced prices.
Finders Keepers is now in its final liquidation stage, opening its doors at 10am and having marked all furniture and décor items down to 50-percent off.
Food Finders will be relocating its nonprofit offices to a new location within the Long Beach area, with its final address still to be announced.
Founded in 1989, Food Finders Incorporated is a multi-regional food bank that serves as a conduit providing food to feed the impoverished, hungry individuals in the Los Angeles and Orange county areas. “Our service is dedicated to be the resource link between donors, service agencies and the individuals in need, and function as a referral source, directing individuals where they can go in order to receive necessities to survive,” reads a press release issued by Food Finders on Monday. “We are committed to provide for the helpless children, sick and elderly, and assist the able-bodied needy as they strive to become more competent, self-reliant citizens.”
