The Local Hearts Foundation held an Easter basket and pancake giveaway on Saturday, April 16, at the Homeland Cultural Arts Center at MacArthur Park in Long Beach.

Local Hearts is a community organization led by Tito Rodriguez and his family who provide free gifts to the community at similar events throughout the year. This event was the first Baskets & Pancake event to celebrate the Easter holiday.

“We grew up in the park, I grew up in this park,” said Rodriguez to volunteers before the start of the giveaway. “ […]To see all those little kids out there, that brings a lot of joy to my heart, because basically, we didn’t have that.”

The pancakes were donated by Loaded Cafe and Mexihanas Hibachi Grill while the Easter baskets were supplied with donations from Gonzalez Tax and Insurance Services, L.A. Properties, Inc. and the City of Long Beach.
