Local teen dead after altercation

A Long Beach juvenile is dead after an altercation that ended in gun shots.
On May 3, at approximately 6:50pm, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of E. 65th Street regarding a hit shooting that had just occurred.
Upon arrival, officers found a male juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. The Long Beach Fire Department responded and determined the victim deceased at the scene.
Homicide detectives responded, and during their investigation it was found the victim may have been involved in a physical altercation with the suspect(s), who left the location but returned a short time later and shot the victim.
This incident is being investigated as possibly gang-related. The victim is a 16-year-old resident of Long Beach.
