Long Beach Airport (LGB) will welcome 2,000 airport officials to the city next week as official host of the 2015 Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA) Annual Conference & Exhibition, according to city officials. The event focuses on modern trends in the commercial aviation industry and is one of the largest of its kind in the world. The conference will be at the Long Beach Convention Center Oct. 4-7.
“We’re honored to welcome ACI-NA and its attendees to Long Beach for their annual conference and are very excited to display all that our city and our airport have to offer,” said Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia. “This is yet another opportunity for Long Beach to prove itself as a dynamic host and international tourism destination.”
This is the first time that Long Beach Airport will host the event.
“Long Beach and its airport deserve a national reputation as one of the most welcoming cities in the country, and this event will go a long way toward making that a reality,” said Congressmember Alan Lowenthal, who will deliver opening remarks at the conference on Oct. 5. “I am so pleased that we have the opportunity to present Long Beach Airport to this collection of aviation leaders, and I’m sure that they will come away feeling just as proud of this local jewel as we do.”
The ACI-NA Annual Conference & Exhibition draws participants from 200 airports across the United States and Canada, and it features prominent displays of the latest products and services available. The event is consistently one of the foremost authorities on new and emerging technologies in the commercial aviation industry, according to city officials.
