Long Beach City College (LBCC) has named Stacey Toda as its new associate director of public relations and marketing, Long Beach Community College District Superintendent-President Eloy Ortiz Oakley announced Monday. Toda has been serving as the interim associate director at LBCC since July.
Toda will serve as a public information officer and a governmental affairs liaison, among other roles. She will report to John Pope, director of college advancement, public affairs and governmental relations, who joined LBCC earlier this month.
“Stacey’s extensive experience with media, government and strong ties with the community will serve the college well as we strengthen our communication and marketing efforts at LBCC,” Oakley said.
Toda, a resident of Torrance, was the deputy chief of staff for former Long Beach Mayor Bob Foster from 2008 to 2014. Prior to working in the mayor’s office, she worked in corporate communications for Wells Fargo Bank and as a senior field representative for California Assembly Member George Nakano.
