Long Beach fire investigators arrest serial arsonist

On Tuesday, Jan. 5, in partnership with the Long Beach Police Department, Long Beach Fire Department Arson Investigators arrested Christopher Allen Phillips in connection with a series of four fires that occurred in the Belmont Shore area during the evening of December 31, 2020 and early morning hours of January 1, 2021. Video camera footage played a significant role in this arrest. 

Phillips, a 30-year-old male, was charged with 5 counts of Arson and 1 count of Attempted Murder. The arraignment has been scheduled for January 26th in Department 1 at the Long Beach Courthouse with a recommended bail amount of $1,350,000.
