The Long Beach Golf Learning Center’s new management team has approved and supported the LBGLC Junior Golf Program, which was started in early June 2008. Fabian Rivera, program and tournament director, and Brian Gonzales, professional golfer and program financial officer, have been working on the formation and improvement of this golf venture for local youths.
This organization was approved and sanctioned by the Public Links Golf Association (PLGA) of Southern California in early July 2008 by issuing the participating young members with handicap index cards.
A $25 yearly membership fee is required to join the Junior Golf Program but any low-income family may still join with the non-profit organization covering it.
The LBGLC Junior Golf Program membership entitles participants to the following:
• Monthly low-cost scheduled golf tournaments
• PLGA Handicap Index Card
• Free one hour monthly (one on one) golf instruction with program’s professional instructors
• Roger Dunn Golf Shop golf discounts
• Grass and mat range ball discounts
