Long Beach Japanese Cultural Center to host summer festival

The Long Beach Japanese Cultural Center, 1766 Seabright Ave., will host its annual summer festival on Saturday, June 27, from 3pm to 9pm and on Sunday, June 28, from 3pm to 8pm.

The festival, which is open to the public, features Ikenobo ikebana flower arranging, calligraphy, and martial-arts demonstrations of kendo, judo and karate.
Food will include beef and chicken teriyaki, chirashi sushi, spam musubi, curry gohan, udon, shaved ice, hot dogs, chili dogs, chili rice and more.
There will also be games for kids.
Events are scheduled as follows:
Saturday— 6pm, judo; 6:30pm, Ondo; 7:30pm, Taiko; 8pm, Hula/Hawaiian entertainment
Sunday— 6pm, karate; 6:30pm, Ondo; 7:30pm, Kendo
