As the Long Beach Public Library (LBPL) assembles its 2025-2030 Strategic Plan, the Library wants to hear from community members about their experiences to identify room for future goals and improvements.
The public input gathered through the survey will impact the planning process and development of the Strategic Plan, which is on track to be presented to Long Beach City Council next spring. The results of the survey will also help better inform the LBPL’s programming and community resources to ensure they are addressing the needs and interests of residents.
The survey can be completed in English, Spanish, Khmer and Tagalog online or in-person at any LBPL branch now through Oct. 31.
The survey is broken up into three sections:
- Residents’ library usage
- Ranking the most beneficial library resources
- Demographic information
Several questions allow survey-takers to mark their feelings on a scale ranging from strong agreement to strong disagreement, and explore topics such as the extent of the library’s catalog and experiences with LBPL staff.
Questions from the survey include the following:
- How often did you visit the library in the past 12 months?
- What would encourage you to use the library more frequently?
- In your opinion, what should the library focus on to best serve the community in the future?
