Long Beach residents will get to decide what artwork will cover the exterior of one public facility in each district by voting for their favorite mural designs.

The final round of the Public Mural Program consists of 27 local artists, nine of whom will be selected to craft murals around the city. For each district there will be three mural design options, each from a different artist, and voters will have until July 8 to vote for one mural per district.

This artistic initiative was funded by the Long Beach Recovery Act Creative Economy Grants program, with $135,000 going towards the Public Mural Program, and awarded through the Arts Council for Long Beach. This grant allows local artists to beautify the city with unique artwork that embodies the culture and community of their respective neighborhoods.
